India West Indies tour in June and a Twenty20 game, five ODI and three test matches. India has not played any test series in June 2006. Tour will begin shortly after completion of IPL 2011.

Going by the ICC ratings of both teams, this race does not seem to hope for the West Indies. All that the Indian captain Dhoni touches seems to turn to gold. While India is riding high on their success in the World Cup, West Indies seem to be struggling to find the right combination. The West Indies Board with their initiative for the young players is a step in the right direction, but they will need their experienced players to fire if they want to be anywhere close to India, especially in the tests. Dwayne Bravo and Darren will add a touch of class to the lineup, but their main man for all sizes would be the dynamic ex-captain Chris Gayle. The current captain Sammy bank on him to carry the team.

India looked perfect in the schedule of meetings recently but mostly because Dhoni has masked their weaknesses beautifully on the back of their formidable batting lineup. Any lineup that includes Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj and Dhoni can send shivers down opposition sides, but the bowling was not necessarily consistent. Zaheer and Harbhajan have been carrying the burden almost single handedly, but if the Windies can deny their threat, they can collect the rest. Another weak point of traditional Indian express pace bowling has been the home team is not short of. If the Windies can have Keema Roach and Fidel Edwards fit and firing, you can really make some technical foul and gain an advantage in the series. All in all, if the West Indians do not raise their game plan well and are in a classical Indian drum.
