Australian Dav Whatmore will replace interim coach of Pakistan team Mohsin Khan after their one-day series against England ends this month, a Pakistan Cricket Board source (PCB) told Reuters on Sunday.
The source said he would take care Whatmore as coach for the Asian Cup tournament in Bangladesh next month.
"It was decided to release Mohsin its training mission after the England series and Whatmore was chosen as the man to steer our team over the next two years," said the source.
Whatmore, 57, coached the Sri Lanka side that won the World Cup 1996.
He coached Bangladesh from 2003 to 2007, leading them to their first Test win in early 2005 against Zimbabwe and also led to the super eight stage of World Cup 2007, where they defeated India and South Africa
"He will be our coach for the Asian Cup. The Council also decided to hire professional English coach Julien Fountain as the coach of the national team on the field," the source added.
Mohsin coached Pakistan in their 3-0 clean sweep of the series of tests against the world's top ranked side by England in UAE this year.
